Trimbakeshwar Pitra Dosh Shanti Puja
आच्या जानु दक्षिणतो निषद्येमं यज्ञमभि गर्णीतविश्वे | मा हिंसिष्ट पितरः केन चिन नो यद व आगःपुरुषता कराम ||
Pitra is referred to our ancestors and family members who are dead. Pitra Dosh is referred to the situation when the departed ancestors or family members have not attained peace or salvation. Importance of blessings from Pitra is explained in Rig Veda (Book 10: Hymn 15). This hymn contains a set of 14 verses and these verses outlines the importance of pleasing Pitra along with the basic procedure to please them and benefits of pleasing the Pitra.
Our ancient fathers who deserve the Soma (Nectar) who came, most noble, to our banquet. With these let Yama (God of Death), yearning with the yearning, rejoicing eat our offerings at his pleasure.
Astrologically Pitra Dosh is usually seen by Sun – Rahu conjunction or Rahu aspecting Sun in the natal horoscope. The result of Pitra Dosh will largely depend on the house in which Sun and Rahu are conjunct. Moon and Rahu conjunction may also lead to Pitra Dosh, which at times is referred as Maitri Dosh.
Some astrologers take Maitri Dosh to be arising on Mother’s side and Pitra Dosh on the Father’s side. There are some other combination of planets in the birth horoscope which may lead to Pitra Dosh too. An expert astrologer is the best judge to decide over the extent and the effect of Pitra Dosha.
Pitra Dosh Nivaran Puja helps in overcoming the negative impacts of Pitra Dosh. This Puja is often performed at a few designated places like Gaya, Banaras, Pehowa, Tryambkeshwar, Hardwar etc.
Gaya is believed to be the best place for Pind Daan and it is believed that many mythological figures like Lord Rama, Yudhistra, Bhisma Pitamaha, Marichi (Brahma’s son) performed Pind Daan at Gaya. Some people choose to perform this Puja at home too. An expert astrologer or a senior Pandit should be consulted when performing this Puja at home.

नवम पर जब सूर्य और राहू की युति हो रही हो तो यह माना जाता है कि पितृ दोष योग बन रहा है। शास्त्र के अनुसार सूर्य तथा राहू जिस भी भाव में बैठते है, उस भाव के सभी फल नष्ट हो जाते है। व्यक्ति की कुण्डली में एक ऎसा दोष है जो इन सब दु:खों को एक साथ देने की क्षमता रखता है, इस दोष को पितृ दोष के नाम से जाना जाता है।
कुन्डली का नवां घर धर्म का घर कहा जाता है, यह पिता का घर भी होता है, अगर किसी प्रकार से नवां घर खराब ग्रहों से ग्रसित होता है तो सूचित करता है कि पूर्वजों की इच्छायें अधूरी रह गयीं थी, जो प्राकृतिक रूप से खराब ग्रह होते है वे सूर्य मंगल शनि कहे जाते है और कुछ लगनों में अपना काम करते हैं, लेकिन राहु और केतु सभी लगनों में अपना दुष्प्रभाव देते हैं, नवां भाव, नवें भाव का मालिक ग्रह, नवां भाव चन्द्र राशि से और चन्द्र राशि से नवें भाव का मालिक अगर राहु या केतु से ग्रसित है तो यह पितृ दोष कहा जाता है। इस प्रकार का जातक हमेशा किसी न किसी प्रकार की टेंसन में रहता है, उसकी शिक्षा पूरी नही हो पाती है, वह जीविका के लिये तरसता रहता है, वह किसी न किसी प्रकार से दिमागी या शारीरिक रूप से अपंग होता है।
अगर किसी भी तरह से नवां भाव या नवें भाव का मालिक राहु या केतु से ग्रसित है तो यह सौ प्रतिशत पितृदोष के कारणों में आजाता है।
